shell shock (2009)
Director: James Price
Production Company: Pixie Films
Tom, ex-army veteran of an unknown conflict, is haunted by his war-time memories. Adrift in a strange city he reaches out to a young Japanese girl but life's not easy when struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Beautifully filmed, the visuals have a dreamy, poetic quality and a strong central performance that distinguishes it from many a first feature.
‘Shell Shock’ is James Price’s writer/director debut feature. Shot in Tokyo, London and rural Herefordshire, it is a compelling portrait of the impact of war on a young man that anybody who has friends or family serving overseas should see.
